The MIT Asian dance team (MITADT) provides the MIT community with a taste of East Asian culture via the medium of dance. We perform works from traditional Chinese, to contemporary lyrical, to Korean hiphop, to Japanese idol-dance, to aboriginal folk, and much more. We welcome members regardless of experience, age, race, or gender, so if you are interested in joining a great community and learning some truly unique dances, head over to the auditions page for more information!

May 5, 2013 - Inspirasian: Boston Asian Performance Arts Festival
We will be having our Spring 2013 showcase, Inspirasian, 4-6pm on Sunday, May 5 2013! It will be held MIT Kresge Auditorium.
Inspirasian is a collaboration of semi-professional and student organizations aiming to promote Asian performance arts to MIT and the Greater Boston Area. We, as MITADT, will be performing the traditional (Tibetan, Xinjiang pieces) and hip-hop (K-pop pieces by DBSK, EXO, T-ara, Wondergirls) dances we've been working on all semester. We also have a variety of performances from our collaborators: MIT Syncopasian, MIT Ohms, MIT Lion Dance, Harvard AADT, Dance Revelasian, the Wang YMCA, Yo-Yo Generation.
Tickets are $5 for MIT affiliates. For general admission, tickets are $7 if bought early and $10 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at the following locations:
- Monday April 29-Friday May 3: Lobby 10 @ MIT
- Sunday May 5: At the door

February 16, 2013 - Spring 2013 Auditions!
*UPDATE* Due to the blizzard, our Spring 2013 Auditions have been postponed to Saturday, February 16th, 3-5:30pm in McCormick Dance Studio.
At auditions, we will teach you a short technique lesson followed by some traditional and hip-hop choreography, and view previews of this semester's pieces. Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move in.
It's all right if you don't have any dance experience! Many of our members join without any prior dance experience. We accept all those who audition, regardless of experience, race, age, and gender. (Note: You do not have to be a first-year undergraduate to audition. We have and welcome all undergraduates, graduates, and other MIT affiliates.)
January 2012 - IAP Dance Workshops
We will be holding short dance workshops over IAP--come dance with us! No dance experience is required.
- Sat., Jan. 19, 3-4 pm: Coming Spring, a traditional handkerchief piece @ McCormick Dance Studio
- Sat., Jan. 26, 3-4 pm: Lucifer, a popular Korean pop song by SHINee @ McCormick Dance Studio

December 1, 2012 - 'Limitless' 天記夢台 Fall 2012 Showcase!
We will be having our Fall 2012 showcase on Saturday, December 1, 2012! We will be having two shows on the same day, one from 4 pm to 6 pm and the other from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Both shows will be held in Kresge Little Theater.
Come to see us perform spectacular Yi, Han, and Korean ethnic pieces, classical and contemporary dances, as well as K-pop pieces by TVXQ, SNSD, U-Kiss, T-ara, and TaeYang!
This showcase features many of the traditional and hip-hop/modern dances we have been working on this semester, as well as guest performances from groups including MIT Lion Dance, Mirchi, Syncopasian, and Ohms, as well as Boston-area performing groups such as Dance Revelasian, Cambridge Center for Chinese Culture, and YMCA.
Tickets are $5 for MIT affiliates. For general admission, tickets are $7 if bought early and $10 at the door. Tickets may be purchased at the following locations:

- Tuesday Nov. 27-Friday Nov. 30: Lobby 10

September 8, 2012 - Fall 2012 Auditions!
Interested in joining us this term? Fall 2012 auditions will be held on Saturday, September 8th, 2012 from 4-6 pm in the McCormick Dance Studio.

Summer 2012 - ADT's Summer Workshop Series!
This summer, the MIT Asian Dance Team will be presenting a series of workshops in both kpop and traditional Asian dance. All workshops are open to the general public and will be held every other Saturday from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm in the Walker Memorial Dance Studio (for directions, please email zhanga@mit.edu). If you are interested in attending any of these workshops, please sign up for our summer workshop mailing list.
